Chance is a Proficiency Indicator featured in Dead by Daylight
that is displayed exclusively to Survivors
.
It is the Proficiency Indicator linked to the Luck Game Mechanic.
Mechanic
Nowadays, the Luck mechanic only determines whether the Odds of a Survivor succeeding at a Self-Unhook attempt are higher or lower, which is indicated to the Survivor by displaying the Chance Proficiency Indicator in their HUD.
Originally, it also used to affect Bear Traps.

Survivors can stack their Luck up to 52 % (4*9 % + 4*3 % + 4 %), which is then added to the base chance of Self-Unhook attempts 4 %, resulting in a total of 56 %. - Contrary to popular belief amongst the Community, Luck does in fact not affect the Rarity of Items found in Chests
, only using Plunderer's Instinct
